What is the impact of the corona crisis on the Corona beer brand ?

Corona beer shares its name with the virus – an unfortunate circumstance beyond their control. Will customers

actually start to associate the drink with the crisis? Will they stop buying the beer for that reason ? What should Corona do or say ?

There is a lot of misinformation out there, not to speak of taunting memes and bad jokes … Corona so far has resisted the urge

to respond which seems like the right thing to do – see here Corona remaining silent

Furthermore, it is likely true that negative publicity is damaging only if it undermines the core values of a brand –

in other words, if it exposes that brand values are not authentic – which is clearly not the case here –
